The Day Before Your Whole Life Changes Forever
We think just before a baby comes our life will feel different. The air will somehow be crisper, the sky bluer and our bodies will tell us 'tomorrow you will go into labour'...but the truth is the day before is often just another day...and the more we spend feeling it should be something more the more we are watching a pot trying to boil. Every second drags on and every moment feels like an eternity...and nothing seems to be happening.
The truth is that every day is another day closer. Each day is another day where your body and your baby are up to stuff we have no idea about. From the day you conceive this has begun. The bit we find hard is that we have no control. We have no say. It's like our period. Unless we take artificial hormones our period comes every how ever many days and we come to know its rhythm...the rhythm of our body. But we 'do' birth so occasionally in this life it's only the few who birth more times than most who come to know their pregnancy and birth rhythm.
In your weeks before birth keep living. Keep laughing and having fun. Keep the ordinary and the usual. And try not to expect baby to come early....because if you do every day there on after will feel like an eternity...and you may feel you are in labour before it has even begun...the labour of your mind...and it may be weeks away still.
Your baby will come when it is ready. Your body knows what to do. And each day will be just another day until it's not...and then your life changes forever.
